which I hear is very bad for your liver. I have tried peroxide and there is a slight improvement but some must be other remedies.

File the tops of your nails and apply an anti fungus cream. Also, soak your feet in warm water with a little bleach added to it.
Also I know of someone who got rid of nail fungus by using an anti fungus shower spray on her nails.
Yes, anti fungal meds do damage the liver. However, you wont be on a strong enough dose for a long enough time period to cause any damage.
